Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born December 13, 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for more than 20 years. The stories she tells of her romance and love at first sight has earned her the acclaim of many during the 21st Century. Swift had a passion for music from an early age. Swift quickly rose up the ranks, beginning as a child actor and eventually performing in front of an audience of thousands. Swift was 11 years old when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Following that, she began writing songs and got a guitar. Swift created original music that was inspired by country artists such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks) and Dixie Chicks. Her material was a reflection of Swift's experiences as a tween and the feeling of alienation. Swift was only 13 when her parents made the choice to dispose of their Pennsylvania farm and move into Hendersonville Tennessee. She could spend all of her time to reaching out to label labels from the country scene in Nashville.
